Miriam Costa was named a partner of the firm in 2015 after joining the team in 2003. Before joining Capossela Cohen, Miriam spent several years in the private sector performing corporate accounting and financial reporting for two Fortune 500 companies and full-service accounting and bookkeeping for closely-held businesses.
With more than two decades of both private sector and public accounting experience, Miriam’s areas of expertise are audit, tax, accounting, and advisory services for a range of industries, including real estate, consumer products, manufacturing, service, and nonprofit organizations. Miriam’s concentration also includes home office accounting and bookkeeping services for numerous clients and business valuation services for estate tax matters, gift taxation, and various business transactions.
Miriam is a member of the AICPA, the Connecticut Society of Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.
Miriam received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Connecticut in 1991, later earning her master’s degree in Business Administration in 1998. Miriam earned her CPA license in 2006 and is a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Notary Public.
