Jeff Poppy was named a partner of the firm in 2015 after joining the team in 2006. Before joining Capossela Cohen, Jeff spent time at JetBlue Corporation as a senior manager preparing and reviewing tax returns, quarterly and year-end tax provisions, and at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a senior manager responsible for tax compliance of mid to large-size corporations and partnerships.
With more than two decades of tax and accounting experience, Jeff’s areas of expertise run deep within the tax field, including compliance and planning for personal income taxes, estate tax, property tax, sales tax, corporate and partnership income tax, and accounting for financial statements. Uniquely, Jeff has expertise in international taxation as it applies to U.S. companies with foreign affiliates and entities operating in the U.S. Jeff’s extensive tax knowledge and concentration spans several industries, including manufacturing, service, closely-held organizations, multi-national organizations, and high net worth clients.
Jeff is a member of the AICPA and the Connecticut Society of Public Accountants.
Jeff received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Pace University in New York in 1997 and earned his CPA license in 2001.
